Guides such as Rebecca, Marco, Luigi, and Edoardo have earned praise for their city knowledge. Expect traffic, cobblestones, a possible group of up to 20, and a walking tour if rain makes cycling unsafe.

“Pros: - Storefront where tour starts is easy to find. - Guide was very knowledgeable and told us some interesting lesser known facts about Florence. - Tour ended up being a private tour since nobody else showed up - Saw a variety of places which you would not have been able to see by walking only Cons: - Florence is not a very bike friendly city. We were sharing the roads with cars and scooters with no bike lane. There are not clear traffic laws, which was scary at times. The cobblestones are bumpy and uneven. - Was not informed of a weight limit and my husband is 6 ft…”

Florence: Tuscany Bike Tour with Wine & Olive Oil

14.Tuscany Bike Tour with Wine & Olive Oil

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 174 reviews · 4 hours · from $100

Ride 11 km through Florence’s southern hills with an English or Italian guide such as Giuseppe, Luca, or Claudio. Expect four gradual climbs, historic villas, olive groves, and a family-run tasting of Chianti, extra-virgin olive oil, bread, cheeses, and cold cuts. E-bikes cost an extra €20.

“This tour was so much fun! I was worried about the hills after many of the reviews said that an e-bike was a good idea but it turned out to be fine on a standard bike if you are generally pretty active. The hills are short and often there is usually a tour stop soon after to catch you breath and you can walk the bike up if necessary as the guides are very patient and accomodating. The tasting was absolutely divine and well and truly fed us enough for lunch (bread, cheese, cold cuts, bruschetta & wine) and they were able to cater for dietary requirements (including gluten free/celiac).…”

You’ll see the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria, learn about Medici Florence, enjoy hilltop views, then finish with a surprise tasting of wine and local food. The e-bikes make the climb manageable, but you must already be comfortable riding in city traffic.

“Admittedly at first we were a bit nervous about riding through the busy bustling narrow streets in Florence, but to our guides credit she confidently lead us to all our sightseeing spots & back to the start in one piece. Really enjoyed the pit stop on the way back for the surprise wine tasting & antipasto board. This was a great way to see Florence. Thank you to Lise our guide, you did a fantastic job 👏🏼👏🏼”
